Thanks, Heather.

In addition to discussing/ratifying the slate of board candidates, could we review the sequence of events to follow?

  • When will candidates be notified that they are on the slate, and who will notify them?
  • When will the slate go out to the membership for the vote, and who will send it?
  • When will candidates be notified of their election (or not), and who will notify them?
  • When will newly elected members attend their first board meeting? NOT on Sept 26, right?
  • When will we elect officers for the coming year?

Thanks,

Deborah

Hi Deborah,

My two cents:

  • When will candidates be notified that they are on the slate, and who will notify them?

I believe one of the purposes of the call on the 7th is to approve the slate.

  • When will the slate go out to the membership for the vote, and who will send it?

Secretary should send, and IMO as soon as possible after 9/7 call.

  • When will candidates be notified of their election (or not), and who will notify them?

Members approve the entire slate at the member meeting on 9/27.

  • When will newly elected members attend their first board meeting? NOT on Sept 26, right?

IMO, no. I know I talked about allowing presumptive new board members to attend as guests but I think we decided not to do that.

Technically, the annual meeting of the board is supposed to take place after the annual member meeting (presumably this will have to happen by phone in October), but I would suggest we use the time on the 26th to set the table as best we can for the new board coming in. There will be plenty to do.

Makes sense to me that the October annual meeting of the board should be the first one with the new board members, after the slate is approved by the members on the 27th.

  • When will we elect officers for the coming year?

Again, according to the bylaws this happens at the annual meeting of the board — i.e. the meeting in October. Makes sense for the new board to choose their officers for the year. But we should be ready on the 26th with a list of who we are proposing those officers be.

Does this all makes sense to everyone?

Jeff
