15 Jan--Westport, Sherwood Island St Pk in spruce trees, about 40-50 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS feeding on cones.  Seen at 10 AM and again at 1 PM.

15 Jan--Southbury, Audubon Center at Bent of the River, several WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS in the hemlocks behind the house.  Also PINE SISKINS are still regular at the feeders affording great looks.  Yesterday we had a PURPLE FINCH, which have been absent for most of the winter.
