I was aboard SEA RAVEN back around 1995 when the boat was 'for sale by owner'.
I don't recall the owners name, but I do recall he purchased a bare hull and
finished out the topsides and interior himself. The saloon had an
unbelievable, articulating dining/coffee table made of solid wood. The boat
was located in Friday Harbor. As I remember, the asking price was around
$250K. She was a little rough on the fit and finish but none the less, she
was a true, blue water passagemaker. Since the boat was furnished and fitted
out by a man, for a man (you know, fishing poles in the head, etc.) my wife
took one look and said "no way."
I do have some photographs of the exterior
and interior before the days of digital cameras. The photos are in storage
someplace back in the States, who knows where.
If I were you, I would inquire
at the Friday Harbor marina. I believe she was homeported there for several
years.
Good luck

Subject: [PUP] Searching for "Sea Raven" - please help
We have
done extensive research attempting to find the only other (that we
know of)
non-sail Skookum 53 besides our own Seahorse. The only other one was
named
"Sea Raven." She sold in 1995 and has likely renamed. We have searched
the
CG databases thoroughly for all known 53' hulls made by Skookum Marine.
Please take a look here: http://tinyurl.com/2kecm8

If you know the whereabouts of this boat or her
current name we'd appreciate
hearing from you.
Thanks!
