SCC Members, Tuesday a cyclist was killed in a collision with a car on 285. His next of kin was notified. His name was Bill Pierce. The cycling community has been very concerned, and I wanted you to know, if you knew him. Because he didn’t have ID, the authorities had a difficult time identifying him and notifying his family. SCC is going to work on putting together an education effort to inform cyclists about how to be identifiable in the event of an accident. Our sympathy goes out to Bill’s family.
