If you will be in the DC Metro area on March 19th or 20th, the DARPA
Spectrum Challenge Finals should be a very interesting event.  You'll see
18 teams compete (both head-to-head and cooperatively) to see who has the
best communication system for Dynamic Spectrum Access.  You'll also get to
see a keynote address from me :)

It looks like there is only a small registration fee ($60) if you want
meals, and otherwise it is free to attend.  I hope to see you there.

All,

You are invited to attend the DARPA Spectrum Challenge Finals on March 19
and 20, 2014 at the DARPA Conference Center, 675 N Randolph Street,
Arlington, VA 22203.

The DARPA Spectrum Challenge is a national competition to develop advanced
radio technology capable of communicating in congested and contested
electromagnetic environments without direct coordination or spectrum
pre-planning.  Of the over 90 teams who entered, the top 18 teams will
compete for $100,000 in prize money.

In addition to watching the live competition and meeting the teams, the
final event will provide a forum for leaders in the field to discuss their
perspective on spectrum related challenges and opportunities.  The
following keynote speakers are planned:

  • Mr. Matt Ettus - President of Ettus Research, and National Instruments
    Distinguished Engineer

  • Dr. Henning Schulzrinne - Chief Technologist of the Federal
    Communications Commission

  • Mr. Howard McDonald - Branch Chief, Advanced Access Initiatives Branch,
Defense Information Systems Agency - Defense Spectrum Organization

Additional information is available on the DARPA Spectrum Challenge at
www.darpa.mil/spectrumchallenge

To attend the final event, please register at:

Website: http://www.sa-meetings.com/FinalEventDARPASpectrumChallenge

Note that space is limited and registration will remain open to the public
on a first come first serve basis until capacity is reached.

Please forward this invitation to others working in the field who may be
interested in attending this exciting event.

Sincerely,

-- Yifty
