Observers:

Visitors:
Tom & Donna Sullivan from Boston stopped by for 4 hours today. They had
planned a 1 day visit to go birding at Point Pelee and were now on their
4th day in the area! Malcom McLaren from Chatham came by in the afternoon
hoping to photograph some hawks, but things had slowed down by then.

Weather:
A hot, humid day with temperatures ranging from 24 - 29C. The south-west
wind of 4 - 5 km/hr coming in off the lake helped keep it a little cooler
than the 35C experienced further inland. Skies were clear and the
barometric pressure was steady in the 29.93 in/hg range.

Raptor Observations:
A half decent flight of Sharp-shinned Hawk with 122 birds out of the total
of 160 for the day. Cooper's Hawk numbers were up today at 18 birds.

Non-raptor Observations:
A steady stream of Cedar Waxwings (454) were observed today. Other birds of
interested included: Wilson's Snipe - 1; Chimney Swift - 42; Red-headed
Woodpecker - 1; House Finch - 52; and, American Goldfinch - 56. Monarch
Butterfly - 8.

Predictions:
Going to be hot and humid again with temperatures similar to today, and
wind out of the south-west again up to 20 km/hr. There is a risk of
thunderstorms in the late afternoon.
