Weather: Wind West 10-12 mph, 5 degrees C, 100% Overcast, visibility 28 km, 29.90 in Hg. 12 individual snow flakes were blown past the tower during the count period. Raptor Observations: The wind and overcast conditions kept birds a bay. Upon entry to park several Red-tails moved up and down the road (north and south) but didn't go west. Several more RTs were seen from the tower that hesitated in crossing. A few Red-tails did cross. Some were on north horizon and the rest between there and the tower. No birds passed south of the tower. Two adult Bald Eagles were perched on the edge of the wooded area west of the tower. They made one pass over the Big Creek marsh and flushed most ducks and other waterbirds. They retired to the wood edge for the remainder of the count period. It has been reported that a nest is in that woods and currently can be seen if one stands and looks to the Southwest while in the duck blind near the 'Point'. Non-raptor Observations: Ducks: Green-winged Teal, N. Shovler, Mallard (majority), Canada Goose. Great Blue Heron, Bonaparte's Gulls 5, Pied-billed Grebe on Trout Pond. Predictions: Same but with light rain/snow mix. This is my last day counting. Thanks to all who have helped this year. Happy Thanksgiving.
