Air compressors on boats

We had both a 12 volt system for the air horns (on all of our long distance cruising boats--electric horns just don't have the power).  Plus a Sears oil-less compressor with a 3 gallon tank with breathing air grade 50 foot hoses which we used for HOOKA and diving on the bottom of the boat or working on the boat under water.  For any diving more than 8 feet in depth we carried 5 SCUBA tanks.  This same compressor we used for air tools and cleaning.

Air tools we used regularly included die grinders, cut off wheels, and air powered 6" grinder/disc sander.  Definately worth having aboard, and used frequently.  (but never for inflating the dinghy--we had a high volume, low pressure electric pump for that!).

Recently I researched air compressors to carry along in my RV, and ended up buying the Porter Cable C 2002: Cut-Out Max: 150 PSI,  Cut-In Restart: 120 PSI:  Air Delivery @ 40 PSI ISO1217: 3.5 SCFM:  Air Delivery @ 90 PSI ISO1217: 2.6 SCFM:  Tank Size: 6 gal:  Running Horsepower: .8 HP
