I would offer a suggestion to the Michigander looking to lay over in
Pensacola in september: Bob austin is of course the guru for that area (and
most others) but this is supposed to be another big year for hurricanes and
September is the height of the season. Do yourselves a favor and stop
instead in Demopolis where there is  a good yard. While I am brand new here
on the eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, I know the marina here is all but full
and nOT safe in a hurricane. Dog River in Mobile has several offerings but
it too is not safe. AS you will learn, Demopolis is still 4 days at 7 kn
north with nothing in between, but it does have an airport i'm told. They
have a very good yard and haulout facility. You will be pleased with them.
