The University of Puget Sound is hosting a String Festival

Saturday, October 20th and Sunday, October 21st

The University of Puget Sound String Festival is an accelerated program that takes students from first rehearsal to concert stage in two action-packed days of chamber music rehearsals, coachings, master classes, and performances.

You are invited to audit the entire day's program including the Master Classes

Auditing fees are $30 for one day, $40 for two days. People who want to sign up prior to the festival can call 253.879.3298 or you can sign up at the door. Registration will be in the concert hall foyer from 12:15-12:45 pm and again from 2:30-3 pm. You pay by credit card or check. Lunch is included in this price for Saturday only.

Tickets for the faculty concert on Saturday are not included in this price.

Tickets for the concert can be ordered online at http://tickets.pugetsound.edu, or purchased at the door.

Saturday, October 20th:  Master Class 1:00 - 3:00 pm (Schneebeck Concert Hall)

Master Class:

Renowned guest artist, Paul Kantor, violin will conduct a Master Class with a repertoire to include Tchaikovsky Concert, Ysaye 6th Solo Sonata, Pagananiana, and Conus Concerto.

Saturday, October 20th:  7:30 pm Concert in Schneebeck Concert Hall

Concert featuring Paul Kantor and the Puget Sound String Faculty: Maria Sampen, violin;

Timothy Christie, violin; Joyce Ramée, viola; David Requiro, cello; Stephen Schermer, bass

Tickets: $12.50 general; $8.50 Seniors, non-Puget Sound students and Puget Sound faculty and staff. Tickets may be purchased at the door with cash or checks.

Sunday, October 21st

Violin Master Class with Paul Kantor

Repertoire to include Bruch Concerto No.1, Wieniawski Concerto No.2, Bach Sonata No.1, Fugue,
