At least 2 banded Trumpeter Swans were spotted in Aurora, Ontario on March
26, 2006. The site was at the pond near Henderson Drive and Bathurst Street.
The Swans had yellow plates with black numbers attached to their wings and
were banded. The encounter was documented by photographs and the numbers
were noted. Should this documentation be forwarded somewhere? Please advice.

Hello ontbirders,

I just decided to post this as a special interest to those who might be
going into upstate New York this week. Today at 5pm, and yesterday around
the same time I noticed a large flock of over 200 Snow Geese still residing
in a field right off the I-90 thruway, mile marker 388.5 , near exit 48 for
Batavia. This is about 35 miles east of Buffalo. For southern Ontario
birders who would like a look at these birds it is a good opportunity.

I also noticed a few of these birds, and several great species of waterfowl
including both species of Teal and Northern Shovelers, along the roadway a
tad farther east going through the Montezuma refuge. 10 Wild Turkeys also
spotted at mile marker 349 (west bound). Even though they are so common, Red
Tailed Hawks put on an absolutely dazzling display throughout this area,
with hundreds being seen. One Rough-Legged.

Good birding,

Jay Peterson
