Discussion and technical support related to USRP, UHD, RFNoC
View all threadsHi list,
I've bought USRP X310 from NI and tested it without problem in LabVIEW.
(The computer in test equips with Intel X520-DA2 10Gbps Controller.)
And, I tried to test the device UHD+GNURadio in Linux (with the same
computer) and there is no problem, too.
However, in my MATLAB R2014A (operated in Linux), it seems that MATLAB
cannot find the device with findsdru 192.168.40.2.
Maybe the problem comes from that the supported version of MATLAB is
003.005.001-vendor (according to the return value of
getSDRuDriverVersion()).
So, my question is, doesn't the current version of MATLAB support USRP X310
and is there any schedule for support if it is not supported currently?
If USRP X310 should be found by MATLAB with proper setting, please let me
know how to set MATLAB (and/or Linux) properly.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Heejun Roh.
Hi Heejun,
Matlab sdru development is done by mathworks without involvement of
Ettus (Matlab is but one of lots of applications that use UHD). It would
be great if you asked them about their update plans, and kept the list
informed, if possible.
With best regards,
Marcus Müller

I believe the current release of Matlab/Simulink (R2014a) only supports the
USRP2 and the N210. But I'm sure in a future release (perhaps R2014b or
R2015a) that they'll add support for the X300/X310 devices. See the link
below.

We are actively engaged with Ettus Research to provide support for X300/X310 radios. No definite release dates yet, but it is a high priority effort for the development team at this time.
Best,
Mike

Hi Mike,
that's very nice to hear, thank you!
For clarification: We're not involved in the release cycle planning of
Mathworks, but Mathworks (especially Mike) is in very active cooperation
with us.
Sorry if I caused any confusion!
Greetings,
Marcus
