The blowing snows brought few birders down Hall's Rd. in the morning of
Mar.26. They missed out on seeing a raccoon attack!
In early afternoon I went back down and found the GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE with Canadas in the field opposite the north pathway entry. Below the
swinging feeder was a FOX SP.
Now, back to the morn--male & female Purple Finch, 50 House Finch, only 1
C.Redpoll, 2 Rusty Blackbirds, our on-the-hour female White-winged
Crossbill and several other songbirds kept a pestering Raccoon away from the
feeder.
At the platform were 3 Swamp Sp., 7 Song Sp., 1 White-throated Sp. and many
Am. Tree Sp..
On the frozen-over marsh the snows made it difficult to ascertain the duck
species--there were Pintails. The 7 Trumpeter Swans, incl. Crystal & Zack
(neck-collared visitors from Chesapeake Bay) sat waiting out the storm.
