From Michael McBrien via Shai Mitra:
04/23/14 - New London --  a basic-plumaged Pacific Loon on the west
side of the Thames River, in the Green Harbor section. It was “within
200-400 yards of the ferry but seen well enough to discern details of
face, bill shape, necklace, nape, etc.”  From looking at the map,
Michael thinks that it might have been visible from the end of Pequot
Ave. (if that is publically accessible).  Interestingly, Michael was
not aware of the Pacific Loon report from near there, earlier this
winter.

From Frank Gallo:
04/23/14 - Bridgeport, I-95 -- Swallow-tailed Kite.

From Frank Mantlik:
04/23/14 - Bridgeport -- I can't be certain, but I might have seen the
S-T Kite at 11:40 from the southbound I-95 exit 29 ramp. It was a
correct-sized raptor (kite or falcon) going away north over the beige
BTTC building. If it was the kite, a good place to check might be
Beardsley Park / Bunnell Pond up off Rt 8: a large pond, a stream, and
lots of woods (and a zoo).

From Tina Green:
04/23/14 - Westport-Burying Hill Beach -- male Boat-tailed Grackle
observed and heard calling constantly from top of a tree.  This is the
second Boat-tailed Grackle I have seen in Westport this year.  The
previous bird was seen and heard on April 7th at Compo Beach.
southport, Southport Beach -- as of 1:20 PM Wednesday; 15 Bonaparte's
Gulls in various plumages.

From Bev Propen:
04/23/14 - Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center (Milford Pt) --
1 pair of BLUE WINGED TEAL.

From Dave Zawisha via Charlie Barnard Jr:
04/23/14 - Fairfield -- 6:15 PM; excellent looks at a Red-headed
Woodpecker in a tree on the south side of the intersection of Redding
Road and Longmeadow Road in northern Fairfield.

From John Oshlick:
04/22/14 - Stratford, Warehouse Pond -- 5 Northern Shovelers and 9
Boat-tailed Grackles.
Milford -- 6 PM; 1 SNOWY OWL flew from the Milford point marsh across
the river. It landed near the large blue warehouse

From Frank Mantlik:
04/22/14 - Stratford, Long Beach -- 3 ICELAND GULLS (two 1st-cycle and
continuing 2nd-cycle), 4 male Northern Shovelers.
Stratford, Short Beach -- RED-NECKED GREBE in river mouth, ICELAND
GULL (1st cycle) on tidal flats; likely a different bird than the 3 at
Long Beach this morning.

From Randy Sabia:
04/22/14 - Hartford, Cedar Hill Cemetery -- Red-headed Woodpecker
remains in the same area as previously reported.

From Roy Zartarian:
04/22/14 - Hartford, Cedar Hill Cemetery -- the RED- HEADED WOODPECKER
continued its appearances in section 9 between 11 and 11:30 AM. It had
even caught the attention of one of the groundskeepers who asked me
about it.
Newington, Southeast corner of Cedar Hill -- 2 COMMON RAVENS in
flight.

From Tina Green:
04/22/14 - Litchfield, White Memorial Foundation -- 3 Virginia Rails,
3 Purple Finch.

From Paul Desjardins:
04/22/14 - New Haven, Lighthouse Point Park -- Brown Thrasher.

From Robert Braunfield:
04/22/14 - Waterford, Harkness Park -- Large rafts of sea ducks just
off shore on Tuesday around 5 PM.  Approx. 100 Common Eider, 150
Scoter (Black and Surf).  All very close to shore, never seen that
there before.
