I just received this information from FDOT regarding upcoming channel closures and restricted openings for the Bridge of Lions. Night Closures - Sunday through Thursday every week, March 18 - April 27, 2007, from 7 pm to 7 am, the channel is closed and no openings. Day Closures - Monday & Tuesday, April 2 - 3, 2007, the channel is closed. There will be openings at 7 am, 8 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm. Day Closures - Tuesday & Wednesday, April 10 - 11, 2007, the channel is closed. There will be openings at 7 am, 8 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm. The closures are necessary to accommodate construction of new support columns. A request for bridge opening must be made to the bridge tender on VHF Channel 9. I will report any changes that I receive and will also post this info the Waterway Guide website.
