Saw an article in "Cruising World" magazine a while back in where a 1/4"
template was cut out to the shape of the porthole; laid over the screen and
polyethlene (or waxed paper), and 3/8 tubing laid into the outline in the
template with silicone glue between it and the screen. This was then
"sandwiched" together with an additional top board until the silicone cured.
I.e., A sheet of polyethylene to act as a release, the screen on it, the
template on next, the silicone applied near the edges next, the clear 3/8
tubing laid in next and a final board on top to compress it all together
until cured. Trim when finished. I, however, finally found my replacement
screens (with the correct radius in the corners) from "New Found Metals"
after 3 or 4 years of searching and contemplating my solution.
