Hello all, I am donating all sale profits that I receive from my website http://dca_cara.imagekind.com/ to the Zina Linnik Project which is dedicated to the renovation of an inner-city park located in Tacoma, WA in remembrance of a young child/student from McCarver Elementary who was abducted and murdered on the 4th of July. At the end of this last school year, the graduating class of 5th Grade students from Ms. Haase's class and myself worked with Tacoma Metro Parks to create Cultural Heritage tiles (I asked each student to create their own tile artwork which represented for them their cultural identity/heritage) for public art installation in this park project. This class of students was very special - they advocated for additional funds to ensure successful completion of the park to remember Zina Linnik. They met with Washington State Legislature and spoke on behalf of the necessity for the renovation of this urban park and for the importance of remembering Zina Linnik. The students successfully received a promise for additional funding. The children I worked with on this project are brave, dedicated, committed, and creative. They each face personal daily struggles (inner-city obstacles paramount).
