Well, in my three years of going back and forth to Alaksa, I saw Kayaks,
logs lashed together with pickups and house trailers on top, pulled by an
aluminum skiff with an outboard, and a house boat with an 8 hp outboard all
making it from Puget Sound to Alaska. There is a huge difference between
the Caribbean, St. Lawrance Seaway and even crossing to the Bahamas than
with the Inland Passage. There can be a couple of rough places, on the
large bays and Straits, but there are often protected alternate routes!
Nothing against the Nordic Tug--and yes I saw a few of them --but not many
making the entire trip up and back.

Bob was referring to the trip to Alaska. Just thought I would mention that
Don Douglass who wrote at least four cruising books from Olympia to Alaska
did so in a Nordic Tug. His friend Rod accompanied him on his 26 foot
Nordic Tug. And when we were cruising in Alaska, we ran into three 26 foot
Nordic Tugs cruising together from Washington State.
