Dear Colleagues,

I would like to introduce two graduate students who have joined the listserv:

  1. Chelsea Zi Wang, from Columbia, who describes her work: "My interests
lie between intellectual history and the history of books in later
imperial China (12-18th century). Particularly, I would like to explore
how conventions of writing and reading influenced the way China's literate
elites chose to express their thoughts. As a tentative dissertation
project, I am currently exploring the cultural significance of literary
collections (wenji), an important avenue with which many elites sought to
circulate and preserve their writing. More broadly, I am interested in
incorporating comparative East Asian perspectives into the study of
    Chinese history."

  2. Geoff Humble, from Leeds, who plans to work on the Yuanshi
元史 and "attempt to assess its portrayal of networks and
individuals during the reign of Ögödei Qa'an."

Welcome to the listserv.
