I am posting this message for a friend of mine, who does not have access to
this site at present. He is experiencing problems with his SSB radio
causing interference in his boats air conditioning digital control system.
Guess that when he transmits it causes his digital control to "go nuts". He
is somewhat knowledgeable of electronics and knows that he needs to install
some type of filter or as he calls it "choke" into the system.
Anyone had similar problems and know of a fix I can pass on to him?

Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but what does a digital control do on
an airconditioner that a purely bimetallic thermostat from Honeywell
would not do?
Oh, yes, I do have an affiliation with Honeywell, retired from them
after 25 years and they pay my pension....

Jim et al.,
A Google search on "SSB Interference" turned up 38 hits. Most of these had
to do with the SSB causing problems with autopilots or active stabilizers
but I'm sure that the principle is the same. With any luck the following URL
will take you to the Google results page for that search:
interference>
If that doesn't work go to http://www.google.com and type the following into
the search box:
ite:samurai.com SSB interference
I don't know if you'll find the answers you need but it's a start.
Electro-Magnetically yours,
Alex
