I'm steaming between Dana Point and San Diego.  There are 4 warships on the
horizon.  I'm wondering if I should call them to ask their permission to
pass between them?  They are now hailing a boat, better go!  Scott

Scott,

Did you survive? Remember Chapman's - stay away from warships! Is there a
range marked on the chart?

Yes, all is well!  Approaching San Diego, hoping to moor before sunset.
Stopped in Dana Point for zincs, oil and some good wishes from Jeff Merrill
with PAE.

USCG San Diego responded to my hail to the warships, they advised only
restriction is 200yds.  A hovercraft went by me at 40+ knots about 1/4 mile
off my bow!  Amazing craft, those hovercraft.  We were also given the once
over by a Blackhawk helo.  Made water for the first time with my watermaker.
Tasted good, even though it was pickled for a year.  Was able to run it on
12v without the genset running, seems like that's a good thing to me?
