Nicholas and I decided we had enough of Staniel Cay and pulled anchor this morning. We went another 45 miles NE up to Highborne Cay to try to find a spot to settle in for a while. Cruising here is a breeze. We motored with 10 ft of water under the keel almost the whole time and were surrounded by pleasure boats going north and south. There was a lot of VHF chatter on the radio and it felt like it was almost crowded. This is a far cry from the rest of the trip where you were all alone with no safety net. These boats have it good.
We just arrived at Highborne Cay and found a real nice quiet spot off of a nice big sandy beach. Nicholas will love it. The water was mostly emerald green the whole trip but the anchorage is kind of clear lime green. It is really pretty.
There is a marina here and a general store around the corner. So, this might be where we hang out for a couple of weeks before heading back to the states. That said, Nicholas and I are getting anxious to get back and start some new adventures.
All is well.
David
