In a season often reduced to costumes and candy, we're reclaiming the
ancient purpose of this threshold time: honoring what and who we've lost,
and giving our grief the attention it deserves.
Our culture has traded the sacred pause of All Saints Day for shopping
and spectacle, but the need to honor our dead and tend our losses hasn't
disappeared—it's just gone underground.
This one-day workshop reclaims November 1st as a day of meaningful ritual.
We'll gather to paint intuitively, creating space for the grief we carry:
for people we've loved and lost, for pets who've passed, for marriages that
ended, for versions of ourselves and our lives that no longer exist.
Grief needs witness. It needs time. It needs the kind of spacious,
non-verbal exploration that intuitive painting offers.
Through Contemplative Brush

guided to work with color, shape, and gesture—not to "make art" but to be
present with what's true. No painting experience is necessary, just a
willingness to show up for yourself and what you're carrying.
Date: Saturday, November 1st (All Saints Day) (please preregister by
October 30th)
Time: 9:30AM-1:30PM
Location: held in a private location in north Tacoma - address will be
given to those who sign up
