Hi Folks

I though I was done for the year!

The bird was off shore between the nesting bar and Charles Island. It
was a ways out and needed the full 60x scope to see the field marks.
It was feeding heavily, so it was up and down a lot. The bird was in
the neighborhood of 2 Common Loons for comparison. I saw it from 8:00
to 8:30.

Large Size, Long Neck, Yellow Bill and distinct 2 tone head and neck.

Frank Gallo and Tina Green have relocated the Western Grebe, it is best
viewed from the Francis St. beach, which is to the left of the Milford
Pt. platform, past the spot where the LeConte's Sparrow has been hanging
out.

My string of fleeting and/or inadequate sightings of rarities, continues! I just wanted to elaborate on Frank Gallo's post. At 10:20 am, I had the Le Conte's right in front of "Mardi's arrow", for about 5 seconds. Efforts to get other birders on it were unsuccessful. I am aware of no other sightings after Jim Zipp had it consistently, somewhere around 700-740 am.

Thanks again, Tina Green, for showing me the distant Western Grebe!
