Morso presents The Muse at Morso, a monthlyprogram featuring premier authors and poets. On the second Thursday of eachmonth, Morso presents poets and authors to GigHarborthen share work from the community. Our next featured poet is Lisa Schmidt on July 10 at7pm.
Lisa Schmidt is a poet, an orchestra teacherand violist. Her poems have been published in recent and forthcoming issuesof Ann Arbor Review, The Bitter Oleander, Comstock Review, and Nimrod. In 2011, she was aSemi-finalist for the Pablo Neruda Prize and the River Styx InternationalPoetry Contest, a Finalist for the Spoon River Poetry Review Editors' Prize,and a recipient of Special Merit recognition for the Muriel Craft BaileyMemorial Award. In 2012, she received an International Merit Awardfrom Altanta Review. Lisa's affinity for the natural world influences much of her poetry. Her workflows like a stream through a meadow and carries the listener along at aninspirational pace.
