To all of those on the CollectionSpace Talk list, this is to note that
after 33 years working for the University of California system, I'll be
retiring from UC Berkeley in mid-May.

I've thoroughly enjoyed working on CollectionSpace since 2009 - with my
colleagues here; with our original project management and development
partners at MMI, Toronto/OCAD, and Cambridge; with some of those same
folks, now at LYRASIS; and with the many people I've met from museums and
heritage collections around the world.

Over the last couple of years, due to other work responsibilities in my
department, I haven't been able to devote much time to CollectionSpace. As
a result, my retirement won't materially affect our support for the product
and community. Here at UC Berkeley, I'm delighted to say that we have a
very strong team with deep knowledge of CollectionSpace, who have
contributed mightily to its origins and development over the years.

Chris Hoffman (Museum Informatics supervisor), John Lowe (UCB team lead),
Ray Lee (UCB tech lead), Lam Voong, Rick Jaffe, and Amy Wieliczka (and any
others I might inadvertently have failed to mention) have all made
substantial contributions in recent years, and are as talented and
committed as any colleagues I've ever worked with. Others here, including
my boss, Patrick Schmitz, have been substantial contributors in the past.
Our colleagues in UCB's campus museums have provided a myriad of valuable
feature requests, bug reports, testing results, and many other
contributions, including innovative workflows involving CollectionSpace
webapps. And we're proud to count LYRASIS's own Richard Millet,
CollectionSpace's Tech Lead, as one of our former colleagues, as well.

You're all terrific, and I'm going to miss you - and this work - very
much.

P.S. In retirement, I'll remain a member of the CollectionSpace community,
and will be glad to help out where I can.

P.P.S. In addition to Richard, this is a shout out to Megan Forbes, Program
Manager at LYRASIS, for all her terrific work in having shepherded
CollectionSpace: from its earliest origins, to what it's become today!

Congratulations, Aron! Glad you're sticking around. -Yousuf On Apr 29, 2017 9:02 AM, <talk-request@lists.collectionspace.org> wrote: Send Talk mailing list submissions to talk@lists.collectionspace.org To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://lists.collectionspace.org/mailman/listinfo/talk_ lists.collectionspace.org or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to talk-request@lists.collectionspace.org You can reach the person managing the list at talk-owner@lists.collectionspace.org When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Talk digest..."
