Empire of Blue Water

By Stephan Talty.

This is not a novel!

Come hither and read the true story of Pirate Captain Henry Morgan, the
Brethren, the Disintegration of the Spanish Empire and the beginnings of
world trade.

So, where did the 16,000 tons of silver go, that the Spanish wrested
from the New World? That silver turned into coins; nearly 3 billion of
them. And, the coins, like fish in the sea, migrated and became food for
other fish and world trade exploded.

And what became of the Spanish; having stripped their colonies of their
gold and silver! The colonies sank into economic quicksand. And, as the
empire expanded, so did the cost to control, protect and manage it. The
bookkeeping literally spiraled out of control. Instead of making Spain
rich, the blood of Spain's economy was sucked, like by a vacuum cleaner,
into the Wind of Destiny.

This book has got to be the premier read for Armchair sailors.

Read it, see if you don't come away enchanted and awestruck.

Regards,
Mike
