All hands interested in the Vallejo Trawler Fest program--
I'm delighted to announce that Dolph and Bev McCranie will be able to
participate after all. They will present the seminar outlined in the
registration brochure for Saturday 10:30 a.m. but deleted from the Trawler
Fest page on the Web:
LONG-RANGE CRUISING: LESSONS LEARNED
To make your transition from cruising local waters to voyaging to distant
ports easier, Dolph and Bev McCranie of The Right Whale, a well-travelled
Krogen Whaleback, will outline what they have learned after several years
of cruising almost full-time. They have ranged from California to Alaska,
down through the Panama Canal, and over to Florida and the Bahamas.
Dolph will also serve on the panel for the Friday 10:30 presentation:
SEMI-DISPLACEMENT OR FULL DISPLACEMENT: WHICH IS BEST?
Let's see if we cannot settle the question that rages so often when trawler
crawlers gather, and befuddles newcomers so completely. In this corner, two
owners of semi-displacement boats, in that corner, two owners of
displacement boats. Let the debate begin, in moderation of course!
The McCranies will be arriving at Vallejo as they did last year--on a BMW
motorcycle. They are headed north for a tour of the Canadian Rockies,
having stored their Krogen 48 Whaleback on the hard in Florida.
You can still advance register for seminars, meals and the happy hours with
the print-and-fax form provided at
http://www.trawlerworld.com/c_tfest_ca2000_reg.htm or by visiting your
nearest West Marine or E&B Marine store. If you need additional
information, the toll-free number is 1-888-WMTFEST.
