BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...
... to all Gators who will be rounding all of the bases and bringing it
home this weekend!
It's a light weekend of Gator racing, so we revisited our loose policy of
including "anything longer than a 5K" on our event calendar (with the
exception of sponsor events and special club events such as the very very
short "RefrigaGator Swim"). Moving forward, if there is a 5K that includes
5 or more Gators (as is the case with the one announced below), let us know
about it and we'll include it on the "Who's In?" calendar.
And, as always, if you have ANY type of event and are not included in this
post, PLEEEEAASE give yourself a shoutout in the comments so that we can
also send good Gator vibes your way!
Coming later today... Get your Gator gear! Watch for a post from Angela
Epelbaum with details and the link to the store that will remain open until
Sunday 10/23.
We need your input:
• Party attendance: Don't forget to respond to our end of year party poll
so that we can get an accurate headcount. It's posted under
"Featured"/"Announcements".
• 2023 planning meeting: Reminder that next Thursday 10/20 is our 2023
planning meeting. It takes place in the SVY's Corporate Conference room
between 6:30pm-8:30pm. See "Event" for more info and to register to
attend... https://www.facebook.com/events/487282159929473?ref=newsfeed
Saturday morning club ride: It looks like a beautiful weekend for outdoor
activities, so let's take advantage of it! We're adding a Saturday morning
SRT out and back ride similar to last week's... Start at 8am at the Dog
Park and ride the 34 mile out and back to Shawmont Ave. An event will be
posted sometime today.
Weekend Workouts: Two options this weekend...
• Saturday 10/15, 8am-10am, Reynolds Dog Park/SRT: Out and back ride on the
SRT. Temps are expected to start in the mid-40s and end in the mid-50s
under sunny skies and very light wind.
• Sunday 10/16, 11:15am-12:15pm, Spring Valley YMCA indoor lap pool:
Uncoached group swim workout
Weekend Events: We have at least 6 athletes getting it done by foot...
Saturday, October 15:
• Dragon Run for Courage (Royersford, PA): This event includes 5K and 1
mile runs and supports a couple of great causes. Competing for the club in
the 5K are Sarah Barkley, Jill Basile, and David Stone. And representing
the youth Gators in the 1 mile run are Belle Stone and Lily Stone. Also,
Holly Beauchamp seems to be in charge of public relations for the event 🙂
and will also be volunteering (or running) along with Sheri Kuss and, I
think, Lindsay Inger. Go Sarah, Jill, David, Belle, and Lily! And thanks
Holly, Sheri, and Lindsay!
Sunday, October 16:
• SPONSOR EVENT: Scoogie Events' "Scarecrow Shuffle" (Peddler's Village,
Lahaska, PA): The event includes 8K and 5K races as well as a 2 mile fun
run/walk and a half mile kids run. Representing the Gators will be Whitney
Chadwick Lessar in the 8K event. Go Whitney!
Gator Done, have fun, then drink a beer! 💚BK🍺
