To All
Last night I was a couch potato watching something stupid on television.
Silly me for not having the energy to get up and go sailing!
According to the racers, it was another wonderful night on the river. The
wind was south-southwest at a respectable 10 -15 mph. The course started out
at the red/green channel markers north of the mooring field, down to mark C,
up to buoy #10, and back to mark D. Racers took their own finishing times
and the results are attached.
Caleb Davison wrote : Thanks again [Morris] for organizing this unofficial
Wednesday night race tonight. Conditions were near ideal. About all that was
missing was a full moon in the sky. Winds: S, S/W < 10 knots. Current:
started downriver during the race? The remnants of Irma only very lightly
misted us so I never used my foul weather jacket because I brought it along.
It was a gorgeous night on the water, everyone who was there said so.

Also big kudos to Gurz Gungil (Lotus) and Jon & Carol Marsh (Dolcé) for
coming out last night.
I hope everyone got the Dinner Cruise invitation via e-mail. This is an
impromptu event sailing from Nyack to Shattemuc Yacht Club in Ossining for
dinner at the nearby BoatHouse restaurant this Friday evening. Please make
sure to call the restaurant for reservations, and mention you are from the
Nyack Boat Club. Details below. Many thanks to Tony Martin and Larry
Feldberg for extending the launch hours from 9 to 10:30 pm so nobody has to
gobble dinner and race home.
