I had a young goshawk Monday at Long Beach in Fairfield. eBird checklist with photos and description is here:

I'm a birder from Virginia visiting family for the holidays; I've never seen this bird before and I was hesitant to call it, so any input you have is appreciated!

We had one at Milford Coastal Center this past Saturday morning. Sighted by Matt Bell and confirmed by tall Paul lol can't remember his last name.

Yours is even a little older than the one we saw in Fairfield county. You can see the one we saw here on IG

Sam,
I was also hesitant to call my Goshawk from Milford without obtaining photos and only having a detailed written description. However, the individual you photographed is of the exact same bird that I had at Milford, which is only across the river from Long Beach where you had yours. I noted the heavy damaged tail feathers, and your photos demonstrate that perfectly.
Great find!
