ABOUT VOORHEES UNIVERSITY
Voorhees University is a private, diverse, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Position: Technical Services Librarian (Cataloger)
Department/Division: Library Services/Academic Affairs
Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000
FLSA Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Position Type/Duration: Full Time
Position Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (some extended hours and travel may be required)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Coordinates the activities of the Technical Services Department.
• Performs adaptive and original cataloging of materials in all formats.
• Maintains quality control of all cataloging and other technical services operations.
• Works collaboratively with librarians, and others, in the PAILS/PASCAL consortia for continued consistency in the policies and practices regarding cataloging, for the assurance of high quality control of cataloging records.
• Performs timely updates to all catalog details.
• Provides requisite training for technical services functions and procedures.
• Develops and maintains departmental procedural manuals.
• Maintains and submits monthly statistics of all departmental activities to Library Director
• Performs night and weekend duties on a rotating schedule.
• Performs other duties, as assigned by Supervisor.
• As a member of the College Faculty:
Participates as a member of the Faculty Senate.
Serves on standing or other specially assigned committees.
Participates in all convocations and commencement exercises.

EDUCATION
• A Master's degree from an ALA accredited program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Evidence of experience in technical services functions, inclusive of cataloging, acquisitions, and the coordination of electronic resources.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current standards, best practices, and emerging trends in technical services.
• Experience with Integrated Library Systems and evidence of online cataloging.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in the supervising of student workers and/or staff.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with cataloging and acquisition functions in the Millennium III integrated library system.
• Experience in academic librarianship within a consortial environment.
