Dear IMLA University Cities Group,
Recently, IMLA in partnership with NACTO released joint Guidelines for Managing Mobility Data. Given the increase in dockless scooters and other related mobility tech, I thought this group would be interested in these guiding principles.
Managing Mobility Data provides guidance on how to protect and promote individual privacy while data collection becomes more widespread. The goal of this guidance is to provide a robust framework to ensure data is appropriately, stored, accessed, and protected. Cities can use this guidance to develop a common-sense approach to how they handle data that also allows for reduction of the risk associated with data processing and management.
The Guidance is available in IMLA’s resource library. If you have trouble logging into the resource library please email Caroline at cstorer@imla.orgmailto:cstorer@imla.org. If you’d like, I can also send you a copy of the guidelines (please send me and email). Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback.
Best,
Negheen
