10/16  Madison, Hammonasset SPThe Sunrise Birding walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison on Monday resulted in 39 species, with highlights of immature LITTLE BLUE HERON, BALD EAGLE (right overhead!), several hunting COOPER'S HAWKS, 2 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, and a cloud of about 1000 TREE SWALLOWS doing their aerial dance above us. The full eBird list, with Patty Morris' photos, is here:
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39958085

A Note: at Hammo, the park road east of Middle Beach is closed for construction weekdays (apparently open on weekends). Walking access east to the Meigs Point area is permitted along the beach.
