03/23/14 - Newington, yard -- New yard bird, woodcock, flushed when I
went out to fill the suet feeder. Also, fox sparrow persists under
the feeders after appearing during the recent "invasion".
Later, after chainsawing for 10 minutes not 50' away I flushed TWO
American Woodcocks from the backyard. That brings my Newington
sightings to 3, lifetime.

03/23/14 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- Snowy Owl seen
from the Cedar Island trail platform. Over the sound, I saw one low
flying Northern Gannet. Later there were gulls (including 12
Bonaparte's Gull) plankton feeding off the Meig's Point jetty. Mixed
in with the gulls was a Red-necked Grebe. Also 1 Northern Pintail.

GLAUCOUS GULL at the west end parking lot. Flew up into a kettle with
other gulls them headed towards the east.

Wilson's Snipe. Large surface- feeding group of gulls, geese, and
ducks stretching from Point Lookout towards Charles Island.

Owens Brook and Echo Lane at around 7:30 PM Friday and Saturday
evenings. Lots of peenting and display flights.
