C-Map launches C-Marina.com
By IBI Magazine
C-MAP says its newly launched C-Marina.com website provides marina owners
and operators with a means of updating their marina facility information on
C-MAP's extensive worldwide marina database
C-Marina.com, a complement to www.c-map.com, allows boaters to view
information about the port or marina of their choice, they can use the site
to find important information like sailing news, weather reports, image
galleries and more. By visiting the Port Book section of the site, boaters
can select any worldwide marina from the database, view detailed charts,
check marina layout and facilities and access a wealth of useful information

"This is another step in our ongoing initiative to expand the realm of
electronic charting and bring in important new value-added data," said Wayne
Norwood, manager of C-MAP's Port Partners division. "For example, our new
C-Marina charts are created from our own proprietary database, offering the
boater a level of detail never before available in an electronic chart. The
success of our ports/marina database and our Port Partners (a program that
offers discounts on everything from slip rentals to boating supplies to
towing services for Club C-MAP members) is a natural evolution in addressing
this very important aspect of our customers' needs," added Norwood, "while
addressing the location where most keep their boatsI at marinas."
Coming soon to the site will be the ability to make slip reservations and
other important arrangements right over the Internet, as well as direct to
one's chart plotter. Users will also be able to store screen pictures and
routes saved in the 'My Marina' section.

Also on the C-Map site you will find that they are not going to be offering
Canadian Charts - They are having a money fight with NDI Digital Ocean who
have a Canadian Monopoly.  Also applies to Navtronics.

Go to C-Map USA and click headline - Attention Canadian Boaters.

C-MAP says its newly launched C-Marina.com website provides marina owners
and operators with a means of updating their marina facility information on
C-MAP's extensive worldwide marina database . . .

Bob, at the c-marina.com home page it says this:

"Welcome to c-marina.com, the only website that allows you to get complete,
up-to-date information about all the ports, marinas and harbours for leisure
use around the UK and Ireland."

"With this website, developed in cooperation with the British and Irish
marinas, you will be able to view a vast amount of information about any
port or marina you are interested in, you will also find a lot of extra
information (sailing news, weather, useful news, image galleries, and so
on)."

This seems to be a site for UK and Irish marinas.  Is there another site for
worldwide marinas?
