'Lo All,

For those of you with Twin Disc Transmissions, but no operator's manual,
there is a rather unique operator's manual on the TD website. It is a manual
that covers all the TD transmissions, with pertinent tables for each
transmission. It is in Adobe format (PDF), so you have to have that program
to access it. Go to the following website and click on "Marine Operator
Manual". It was interesting to see that for most applications, they recommend
oil changes every 1000 hours.

Twin Disk transmissions have a very important feature that owners
should be aware of, a "get home" feature.  If the clutch plates fail
it is possible to unscrew a couple of plugs and bolt the clutch plates
together.  While you loose neutral and reverse forward only is a
better option than sitting dead in the water.  Hopefully this
information is available aboard in case you loose your clutch plates.

About two years ago I wanted a manual but the only choice was to buy one
from the Twin Disc Dealer. The cost was $38.00 and it is about the size of
a TV Guide with a whole lot less pages.

This only applies to some of the Twin Disc models
