Well, after a whirlwind 1,200 nm blast around the gulf and Florida from
New Orleans. we've finally landed in Charleston, SC. We'll be here at
least through the total solar eclipse on August 21st, some six weeks
from now.
After ten years of exceptional service, the center seam of our flybridge
soft top finally yielded in the 45 knots of Tropical Storm Cindy. The
rest of the top appears to be in good condition, and I am thinking that
a good canvas shop can reinforce this seam and put it back together. I'm
not sure what the material is -- it appears to be some kind of synthetic.
If anyone knows a good marine canvas outfit in the Charleston area
please speak up. I got a couple of names from the marina office but I
much prefer first-hand recommendations from the list.
