To All -

The Guy Moulton Regatta last weekend was frustrating, but fun. Frustrating
because the air was so light, but fun because we had eight boats on the line

  • the best turn-out at a Regatta ever (I think)!

There were two races on Saturday, both in very light air. With only two
spinnaker boats racing, all agreed to race non-spinnaker as one big happy
fleet. The Race Committee was pleased to have only one start for the
cruisers. During the first race the wind got lighter and lighter, with big
gapping pockets of dead air. The second race was even worse with only two
boats able to finish. On Sunday, the air was so light that no one could get
over the starting line and the race was abandoned.

A big congratulations to Dave Otterbein and his crew in Breakaway for two
bullets on Saturday, and John Michael and crew in Spirit for coming within
30 seconds of beating Dave in the first race. And big kudos to Lou Spitz and
company in Merry Chase for hanging in there. We hope you and your crew enjoy
your t-shirts. Well done everybody!

See you on the water.

Lee Luce

Cruising Fleet Secretary

P.S. Unless anyone objects, season points will be given as though boats
raced in their spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions. Comments are welcome.
