BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...
... to all Gators competing in Central Park and anywhere else!
We're already off to a fast event start this year with Susan Flavin and Joe
DeNicola having completed the New Year's Day "Lehigh Valley New Year's
Chaser" 10K run in Coplay, PA! And they are back at it again this weekend!
And this week our workout attendance is increasing, which can only mean one
thing... We are getting back to work for an amazing year ahead!
Before we cover the weekend workouts and event, a few reminders...
• Member Survey LAST CALL... We are closing out our member survey Saturday
night at midnight, so if you have not yet provided your input, this is your
final reminder... See Jill Basile's January 5 post under "Featured" for the
link. The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
• 2022 Gators Registration... Registration is open for 2022. If you have
not yet had an opportunity to renew your registration, see Don Mack's
December 8 post that includes all of the details including the link to
online registration and step-by-step instructions.
• Winter GFC... The 13 week Gator Fitness Challenge is underway! It runs
from January 3 to April 3... If you have not already joined and are
interested in joining in and taking on one of or both of the weekly
challenges, just post a comment and you are in. On Monday we'll have our
first "Roll Call" to see how we did in week 1.
• Hats and Visors... We will continue to distribute these until they are
gone. If you have not yet claimed one, see Don Mack before they are gone.
I'll include an update on where you can find me in Monday's "This Week in
Tri Club" post.
Weekend Workouts: We have a couple of opportunities for you to train with
fellow Gators this weekend...
• Saturday, January 8, 8am-9:30am: Zwift Cycling Meetup... We are tackling
the Watopia "Climber's Gait" route. You can join us for part of it or the
entire 90 minutes. If you are joining for part of the ride, just be sure
to be in the meetup by 8:30am at the latest and, once you are in, you can
jump out at any time. If you are interested in claiming the route badge
(and the 600 Zwift experience points that come with it), you'll need to
join at the start and stay with us until we reach the end of the route,
which should be around 60-75 minutes into the ride. See "Event" for more
info... https://www.facebook.com/events/311908314171118
• Sunday, January 9, 11:15am-12:15pm, Spring Valley YMCA Indoor Lap Pool:
Uncoached group swim workout
Weekend Events: We do have two athletes competing this weekend as part of
their quest to run the New York Marathon...
• Saturday, January 8: NYRR Joe Kleinerman 10K (Central Park, NYC, NY): Joe
DeNicola and Susan Flavin are taking on a series of New York Road Runner
events in New York City as part of a program to gain entry into the New
York Marathon... Go Joe and Susan!
Have a great weekend and Gator Done!
