One of the two female Harlequin Ducks was actively feeding in the fast-moving waters of the Farmington River between 10:00 and 10:30 this morning. In front of the small beach at Mathies Grove; walk from the kiosk straight towards the river.

One female Harlequin re-sighted downriver of the beach at 4:30pm on a rock
near a sycamore overhanging the water- also seen well from West River Road
across from the American Legion logging road / shield sign just south of
the Barkhamsted Senior Center.
