Does anyone who uses this system have a helpful suggestion on how to free a
blockage.

Vacuflush toilets plug for a number of reasons, the most common is flushing solids without enough water in the bowl. It creates a clog usually just below the discharge hole or just downline on the way to the vacuum generator/tank. When I am called out to unclog a toilet I drop by a sportings goods or marine store and buy a Hydrobolic water gun/launcher. You can see one at www.instantfun.com. Be sure to get one that is a single barrel. This is a hand pump that shoots water and they cost about $15 -18. The Vacuflush toilet has a 1 inch hole at the bottom of the toilet and the?discharge end of the launcher will?fit over that hole. Push the launcher hard against the hole and jerk back on the pump twice, a small amount of water will enter the pump. Still holding the launcher against the hole at the bottom of the toilet push hard so that the water is injected in the bottom of the toilet. the line will clear. I have never had it fail to unclog a Vacuflush toilet. After the owner see
s how I do it, I give them the pump and a bill. After this I probably won't get any additional business.

good one...

on two head / one pump systems, there is an inline duckbill valve between
each tank and the Y before the pump...  if someone flushes something they
shoudln't it usually gets caught there.  If you have enough slack in the
line, shaking it will often loosen up the problem without even having to
open it up...
