National Coalition for Literacy Board Members List
View all threadsHi everyone,
Now that the formal announcement has been made, I wanted to let the full board know that on January 1 I will be taking over as the new Executive Director at Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), here in DC at their national office. (I had already informed the officers.)

PSR is a physician-led organization working to inform the public on the public health threats posed by nuclear proliferation, climate change, and environmental toxins. PSR is a co-founder and US affiliate of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), and as the U.S. affiliate of this global network, shared in the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize in 1985.
PSR is happy for me to continue to serve on the NCL board as an advisor and Immediate Past President and to continue to serve as an officer with CEF (the nominations committee has placed me on the slate to be Vice President next year). Last October I worked on a job description for this role with the Policy Committee Co-Chairs. Iâll continue to be on calls and to liaise with CEF, follow the budget, send out Sherylâs updates etc. In addition, if we are selected to present at NAWBâs national forum in March and COABE in April, Iâll help/participate as needed. I can time a trip to Florida so that it occurs at the same time as COABE so I can lead the panel discussion if needed.
Again, my new organization very supportive â it wants me to be reaching out to a broad range of constituencies â including the education world â so remaining on the board of NCL and CEF makes sense to them as well. Letâs hope we can find some new ways to connect.
Thanks,
Jeff
Congratulations Jeff!
