I have Series 50 AquaMeters and swear by them.

Having many
lights on distracts and makes it difficult to see the navigational lights
which are often of lower power.

Light pollution from the commercial fishing fleet is a common problem
out here in the Pacific  Northwest.  Many fishing boats run with
several mercury vapor flood lights on all the time.  This is one of my
personal gripes, I wish the Costies would go out and bust a few now
and then.
