LESS THAN THREE WEEKS LEFT TO apply for the PAL/PenMet Parks “ART IN THE
PARK” Four Month Juried Art Exhibit

About the Event:

Peninsula Art League (“PAL”) and Peninsula Metropolitan Park District
(“PenMet Parks”) have joined forces to bring exciting new art activities
and education to the Gig Harbor Peninsula and beyond. As part of this
collaborative effort, PAL is procuring artwork for public display at PenMet
Parks’ facilities. The first of these exhibits will be at PenMet Parks’ new
Administrative Headquarters in Gig Harbor, Washington (the “Venue”).

This beautiful Venue attracts a diverse array of art enthusiasts and
prospective buyers, and the four-month exhibit with no commission charged
on sales, offers artists an exceptional opportunity to engage with a broad
audience.

Location: PenMet Parks Administrative Headquarters, 2416 14th Ave NW, Gig
Harbor, Washington

Art Categories: Photo/digital, two-dimensional (large artwork and
tapestries encouraged)

Eligibility: Open to Washington Artists

Juror:  Sarah Kavage, a Washington-based visual artist, urban planner,
and cultural organizer whose art practice combines creativity, place,
ephemerality, and ecology.

Venue:  The Venue has large open wall spaces to exhibit your artwork. The
PenMet Parks Board of Park Commissioners holds its public board meetings at
the Venue on the first and third Tuesdays of every month and public service
groups meet at the Venue regularly. The Venue looks out over PenMet Parks’
fabulous new Recreation Center (RC) and event lawn (set to open in late
2024). The RC is a 58,000SF facility for indoor sports, walking, and
community gathering spaces, and is accessible from the Cushman Trail. The
Venue will be a hub of public activity and a gathering space for visitors
to the RC.

Admission:                        Free to All Visitors, Monday - Friday
(9AM-5PM)
