Hi all,
I haven't written one of those repetitive weekly reports in a long time, so here a brief update.
Despite my best efforts and heroic effort of our top contributors Richard and Aceman, Thunderbird is deteriorating. We cannot stem the amount of bustage coming in from M-C and the amount of functional failures is ever increasing. Here a list of the top items:
Affecting TB 60, now in beta, soon in ESR:
-
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1425962 - Subscribe dialogue broken due to M-C removal of XUL templates
-
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1439021 - Source view not working for JS/XML/etc. files linked in dev console
-
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1420695 - test-mail-account-setup-wizard.js perma-red ever since we switched to TaskCluster
There's also a back-log of reviews for improvements waiting to still go into TB 60 which had their string changes already landed.
Affecting TB 61 Daily:
- We still need to replace the functionality of three overlays with JS code. M-C have already disallowed use of overlays in Firefox, so we have maybe a week before overlays are going away completely:
-
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1449487 - Lightning not working due to removal of support for non-bootstrapped overlays in M-C.
-
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1433871 - Chat not working due to removal of allowUnsafeHTML in M-C
- (I've just spent a large amount of time getting "draw tabs in titlebar" working again, now pending review)
Jörg.
