BellHop Service Area now includes Vuecrest, Jonathan Kagle
You may have seen those 6-door electric shuttles cruising around downtown Bellevue over the past couple of years. They're part of the BellHop system, a free on-demand shuttle service funded by hotel room taxes and partners like the City of Bellevue and Amazon. Thanks to efforts from the Vuecrest Board, we can now access BellHop at our South and East entrances. This means that you can use your phone to hail a free ride from Vuecrest to Trader Joe's, the Bellevue Botanical Garden, the Farmer's Market (opening 5/22), Bellevue Club, or anywhere in Downtown Bellevue. There's support for wheelchair access too.  Arranging a ride is pretty similar to using Uber or Lyft. To get started, download the Circuit app for iPhonehttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/id988052033 or the Android apphttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thefreeride.rider, set up a free account, and request a ride. Watch the live map to track your shuttle as it comes to pick you up, then hop in.  For more information, including a coverage map and a video explaining the system, see VisitBellevueWA/Bellhophttps://www.visitbellevuewa.com/bellhop/. Note that there can be a decent wait at peak times (beginning and end of workday, lunch), so plan ahead.

Landscape Committee, Kristin Bodiford, Committee Chair landscape@vuecrest.netmailto:landscape@vuecrest.net
The Landscape Committee and our maintenance company NWG are busy improving the sight lines looking east and west as you pull out on to NE 8th St.  Many Vuecrest residents noted this as a top safety concern, so we are making some modifications in this area.  Several plantings have grown to a size, too large to see around or over and are ready to be removed to improve safety for both cars and walkers in this area.  Mulch has been added to the area and  eventually we'll add plantings that grow lower to the ground level and look amazing.
If you have any questions you can reach the team at landscape@vuecrest.netmailto:landscape@vuecrest.net.

Architecture Committee, Rob DeRider, Committee Chair vuecrestarchitecturecommittee@outlook.commailto:vuecrestarchitecturecommittee@outlook.com
A important part of living in Vuecrest to have all exterior upgrade projects in our community reviewed and approved before starting any such projects. As a reminder - Vuecrest requires all exterior changes, additions, redevelopments be reviewed to be sure they meet the Vuecrest Protective Restriction and Building Guidelines Policies requirements.
We love Owners maintaining and upgrading their properties, but we also want those exterior projects to be reviewed and approved before works begins to avoid any costly re-work.
Vuecrest requires that all projects obtain required City of Bellevue permits. It's easy to do - Just send a quick email to  vuecrestarchitecturecommittee@outlook.commailto:vuecrestarchitecturecommittee@outlook.com  describing your project and we'll help you on next steps to a successful project.
Here are just a few examples of popular projects that require review.

  • Exterior painting (includes house body, trim, gutters, entry doors, etc.)
  • New roofing material
  • Building a new fence
  • Shed (temporary, semi-temporary or permanent)
  • Exterior structures, gazebos, green houses, etc.
  • Landscaping, re-landscaping, planting hedges or other significant plant(s)
  • Property redevelopment / addition or new house
  • Pool, pool equipment sheds
  • New or replacing fences/gates
  • Solar array installation (new or replacement)
  • Adding outdoor kitchens
  • New exterior doors
  • Installation of artificial turf

Trash/Recycle/Yard waste tote etiquette
Here's a few reminders regarding trash/recycle/yard waste tote etiquette in the Vuecrest community;

  • Totes should be put out the day before collection and then pulled back in the day after collection
  • Totes should be stored on your property in a place not visible from the street
  • Place totes at or nearest the end of your driveway for collection only
  • Secure all bin lids in the down position, especially the garbage bin to ensure lids are down and garbage is contained and helps keep birds and other critters from making a mess before collection
  • Ask a neighbor to put your totes out or bring them in if you are planning to be out of town
  • Never leave totes out on the street for an extended period of time
  • Promptly clean-up any trash or other debris that may have occurred near your property during collection day
