OK - for the truly paranoid (and to make life easier)...

If you are worried about clogging filters - why not have
quad Racors (10 and 2) and dump the engine mounted filter
which is a PITA anyway, and seems to be what everyone is
worried about.

On the more serious side - for real life - the people with
the biggest problems are those that never or rarely move.
Deliveries for non-moving boats are always the worst - they
may burn through a case in what feels like no time.  I've
changed more filters in yachts, than I have on commercial
vessels despite much greater run times on commercial
vessels.

Otherwise keep your tanks clean, a box of primaries, and a
few secondaries around. 30 or 10 primaries - your
preference - and fuggedaboutit if your fuel is clean and
dry!  There are many more things on your boat that WILL go
wrong, until you are a dock condo - in which case
everything will break when you finally move the boat!

Now back to your regularly scheduled program - A/C pumps

T'III (My summer home - the dock condo - it doesn't go too
far)

commercial - not revealed) - 65000 gallons a year on my
rotation.
