Hi everyone,

Has anyone used the Hurley Marine or the Nautley style "roll-on" or
"pull-on" davits that allow a dinghy to remain sitting in it's upright
"natural" position while being secured on the swim platform? We have a
Trinka 10 hard shell dinghy (no engine) that we want to use with a Grand
Banks 32 that has an extended swim platform.

We are also looking at the Weaver snap davit system, however we would like
to hear about these other types before we make a decision.

Thanks to all for any feedback!

Don

I have used the Weaver Snap-Davit system with my 8' inflatable on my 25x8' boat for 15 years. The biggest advantage to me is having it held in a stable position for mounting the o/b and then boarding. The con would be having to remove the o/b before pulling it up to the vertical storage position. But you don't have a motor. Also, those roll-on's would seem to make your dinghy vulnerable when docking stern-to. The link below shows a Weaver on a Trinka 10 gunwale.
