Hi everyone,
Today (Sunday, October 10) at 3:00 p.m. I observed a dark Ibis (Plegadis sp., age unknown) at the northwest section of Hillman Marsh. I saw it from the Mersea Road 2 bridge that goes over Hillman Creek, just opposite the entrance to the Hillman Marsh Conservation Area. The bird circled low over the marsh and pond on the west side of the bridge for a few minutes and then flew northward and out of sight. I searched for it to the north and also eastward to Wheatley Harbour but with no luck.
Thanks,
Ian Richards
